A new space for clinical research

Kantonsspital Baden (KSB) and ETH Zurich have been working together since 2017, mainly in teaching initially, but increasingly in clinical research. Now three ETH professors are moving into new premises on the hospital’s healthcare campus. Together, they want to make findings from basic research available for the benefit of patients.

Every year, around 180 bachelor and master students are supervised at Eawag. They often participate directly in research projects. This integration, the flat hierarchies and Eawag’s interdisciplinary culture repeatedly lead to master theses receiving awards.

Opening today, the new exhibition of EPFL Pavilions “Lighten Up! On Biology and Time” uses the lens of art to explore the connection of living organisms with the natural cycle of light and dark. Nineteen installations highlight the urgency of reconnecting to the outdoor environment and remind us of the importance of regular light exposure.
EPFL introduces minor in imaging to meet growing demand from research

New imaging methods are being developed and adopted at a rapid pace in both research and industry. To equip EPFL graduates with the skills they’ll need, the School’s Center for Imaging is introducing a minor specifically in this area starting in the 2023–2024 school year. It’s the first program of its kind in Europe and will comprise an array of cross-disciplinary classes.
